Liturgical Ministries
St. Michael & All Angels
Episcopal Church

Acolyte Ministry
This ministry supports the worship of our congregation at services each Sunday.  The acolytes carry the cross, candles and the Book of the Gospel and assist at the altar.  Children and people of all ages are welcome to participate in this ministry
Readers
The ministry of Lay Readers is an important and active ministry at St. Michael's. Our readers help create a worship experience that is instructional and deeply felt. Our family of Lay Readers endeavors to practice on a regular schedule and meet with the Priest as necessary
Liturgical Art & Planning
The Liturgical Art Team works in partnership with the Altar Guild. Its main focus is to enhance our beautiful sanctuary by preparing special decorations and liturgical vestments.  These items are a cherished expression of our culture. These artistic creations coincide with the seasons and colors of the liturgical calendar with special emphasis placed on the seasons of Lent and Advent. Art projects use a wide variety of media; including paper, material and static displays. The source for these projects is from the scripture for the appointed Sunday or from a theme chosen by the Rector. Their creative energy and deep feeling for liturgy are a real gift to our community.
Altar Guild Ministry
The ministry of the Altar Guild & Sacristans, a valued and tireless group, serves the parish of St. Michael's in maintaining and preparing the sanctuary, nave and narthex for our worship service, and special services such as baptisms, weddings, memorials and funerals. Supplies for Altar Guild work is entirely funded through gifts and donations.
Greeters
The ministry of Greeters is a group of people who are responsible for welcoming members and visitors to our services each week.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
The LEM ministry at St. Michael's church involves a group of dedicated individuals that serve on a rotating basis at Sunday services throughout the year as well as serving at all of the additional services that are a part of the Church Year. Many of St. Michael LEM's are licensed as LEM 2s who make regular weekly calls carrying the Sacrament to shut-ins and the sick.
